About the Name
StringTown is an area near the mouth of the Columbia River where fishermen used to make their nets. When thinking about the Pacific Northwest, founder and editor, Polly Buckingham was drawn to the image of fishermen weaving nets and saw a similarity to writers weaving words to give the ethereal form.
Our focus is on Northwest authors, and to that extent, we publish a limited amount of work from outside the Northwest. We are not currently considering unsolicited book-length manuscripts.
StringTown magazine is an annual publication available at independent bookstores in the Northwest and selected locations throughout the country. We accept manuscripts throughout the year.
Yearly subscriptions are $12.50 (shipping included). We also welcome you to become a supporter at $25, $50, or $100 a year. Send Submissions, Subscription Requests, Donations, Orders by Mail and Comments to P.O. Box 1406, Medical Lake, WA 99022-1406. You can also send comments on our Contact page.
